We have a weekly Open Hack Night at the space – Thursday from 7pm til 10pm (and often later). You’re welcome to come along, just drop in – and bring a project to work on!
Periodically we have scheduled public workshops as well – see our upcoming workshops page for that.
We also organise workshops for various art, science and music festivals, such as Coastal Currents in Hastings, White Night in Brighton, and many more.
Last but not least, we’re the team behind the hugely popular Brighton Mini Maker Faire.
Get in touch if you’d like to talk about any events we’re running, or to find out if we can be involved in yours.
Hi there
I’m currently teaching ICT with 22 very bright year 5 and 6 students. Last year they learned basic programming with Scratch and this year I’ve been teaching basic HTML. I’d like to work on a more exciting project next term and was wondering if someone (or a group of someones) at BuildBrighton would be interested in coming in for a morning and showing the children something awesome… perhaps something awesome they could then make themselves over the following term. I’ve been thinking Arduino or Lego Mindstorms might be an option… but I’m not very up to date with physical IT stuff (my background is in virtual web things).
Would love to chat with someone more about what we could do with the little ones… and I’d love to come down on a Thursday and have a look at what skills I could gain to help the kids with an interesting project.
Look forward to hearing from you…
